Learning how to crochet for beginners can be simple, fun and very easy to master. I’d like to give you 2 very simple steps on how to crochet as a beginner.
Decide what type of item you would like to crochet. I would say as a beginner, It’s important to make something that is small that you can finish in just a few hours. You’ll feel that you have accomplished a great feet. I would recommend starting out to crochet a dishcloth that you could use in the kitchen with you are finished, then after that you can make yourself a scarf when you are more comfortable with the hook and yarn in your hand. There are some great places on the internet that offer free crochet patterns that you can choose from. Just do a simple search on “free crochet patterns” or “free beginner crochet patterns” without the quotes. You will find some very easy patterns to start your project.
Choose a good quality yarn and the right size hook. It’s always important to have a great quality yarn to start out your projects with. I would use a size G or H hook to start out with and you may want to borrow one from a friend if you don’t have one to purchase. A good medium weight yarn will do as well. If you are going to make your first dishcloth, then I would use cotton worsted weight yarn. You can buy them in very small balls and choose a variety of colors. Some are variegated colors like “Peaches and Cream”, which is very pretty made up.
So there you have it. I have provided two simple steps on how to crochet for beginners. If you are interested in viewing a great video on how to crochet your first project…a Dishcloth, please visit my blog at http://easycrochetblog.com
