This fun article “How to Scrapbook A – Z” has been inspired by the amazing contribution that the alphabet has brought to scrapbooking. Many scrapbookers rely heavily on the alphabet for inspiration and it never fails us!

Whether our call on the alphabet is to cover a scrapbook with large, bold letters, we are titling scrapbook layouts in A – Z format…or simply emphasizing the letters from our pages with creative and colorful chipboard…the alphabet is quite simply one of the easiest sources for scrapbooking ideas you will ever find – even when you think your creative well is completely dry!

Hopefully “How to Scrapbook A – Z” will be as fun for you to read, as it was for me to write.

How to Scrapbook A – Z…

A… Ask yourself – why you want to do? Who it’s for? What they mean to you? And how they make you feel?

B… Be creative with shapes, colors, patterns and sizes.

C… Capture and choose photos that tell a story.

D… Don’t be afraid to edit!

E… Edit everything you want to! One color is only ONE color until you mix it with another. Crop, cut and collage everything and anything that you want (from papers to ribbons, to photos and beyond). It’s fun and will always make your pages full of dimension.

F… Find your own style.

G… Get inspired by the world around you. scrapbooking ideas are everywhere you look!

I… Incorporate your VOICE and tell your stories the way YOU want to.

J… Journal every day. (Carry your journal with you – everywhere you go – and write something in it every single day…it will help tremendously).

K… Kick your skills into “student” mode.

L… Learn how to scrapbook as many new things, in as many new ways as you can – all the time!

M… Make a home for your favorite scrapbooking examples. (Use a box, a dresser, a filing cabinet or anything that helps to sort and store them). Their value is timeless.

N… Never stop! (Don’t stop anything from How to Scrapbook A – M, and Don’t stop anything from How to Scrapbook A – Z).

O… Organizing a scrapbook – requires an organized scrapbook room! (Even if it’s only a desk in multi-purpose room…you can not truly organize a scrapbook without organizing room to scrap)!

P… Paper is the most important scrapbooking supply you will ever have! You can make anything out of paper. From backgrounds, to mats, to envelopes, ribbon, trim, borders and embellishments — it is so much more! Scrapbook paper is your biggest secret weapon! (Learn how to make with paper – as much as you can and as soon as possible. You will be more advanced for it! Buy it in bulk!!! )

Q… Quilling paper is really cool too! You should try it at least once. (Paper Quilling a Heart, Flower or Even An Initial on Your Scrapbook Album Cover – is by far one of the most creative and admirable ways to cover a scrapbook!).

R… Reach out and ask for scrapbook ideas, help, feedback, information and even supplies whenever you want something that you just don’t have. Scrapbookers love to help one another and share. Don’t be afraid to ask!

S… Stick with it! Scrapbooking is not only fun, it is creative, it is heart-felt, it is rewarding and it is…

T… Therapeutic. Who need’s therapy when we have scrapbooking!

U… Underestimating how precious your efforts will be to your future generations may be one of the biggest mistakes you could make today. (Your scrapbooks will be your legacy – and your story told to your children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the like!) Acid Free, Archival Papers will ensure this!

V… Venture into your own past and the past of your ancestors at least once in your lifetime. Tell their stories too. They deserve to be told and your loved ones will thank you for it!
