Break The Cycle With An Original Green Quilt

25th May 2011

This could be the first time you’ve heard someone say this but… I’m tired of the standard quilt colours. It can not be just me, but I’ve been seeing the same set of colours being used for quilts over and over again. Whites, Blues, Browns, Purples and Dark Reds.

Its time for a change, time for something a bit different, so I have come up with some new ideas for a great green quilt design.

Snakes and Ladders Quilt

Do you remember that old board game snakes and ladders? It seems like everyone has owned a copy of it at some step in the youth.

Well if you really want to make a green quilt that your youngsters will cherish, you may win a place in their heart by making them one of those. Imagine the thrill when they can invite their friends over to play snakes and ladders and put the quilt down on the floor to play.

They could even use themselves as the game pieces!

Loch Ness Monster Quilt

The famous Loch Ness Monster has been talked about and spotted by the rare few for years. There isn’t any other legendary creature which has so much intrigue and mystery surrounding it that is said to be alive today!

You can capture your children’s creative side and sense of wonder by making them a quilt featuring the famous ‘Nessie ‘ on the front.

Though, I'd suggest making it a rather more cartoony version instead of a realistic monster image – you do not want to scare them now!

Camouflage Pattern

If its one thing boys love its military action figures. Whether its the small green army men or G.I Joe action figures or perhaps just playing around pretending to be soldiers in the playground, you cannot deny that boys will always play army.

You will be their personal hero if you make them a quilt with an army green camouflage design on it – they can use it when they build a pillow fortress in the rumpus room or to keep them protected from any monsters under their bed.

Its certain to be a success!

So make sure that your next quilt is a green quilt and you can be certain to impress even the most stubborn of quilt critics!
